Margareta was born on the farm Uved in Nedre Ulleruds parish, Värmlands county. Her parents were the farmer Anders Månsson and his wife Margeta Eriksdotter. Most likely she lived on the farm Uved until the day she got married. She married the farmhand in Uved Petter Hansson on October 15 1758. She got "20 lod silver" as a morning gift from her husband. After the wedding they lived at Uved for some years. In 1760 the moved to the farm Karsbol in the same parish. Also her husband's sister Margareta Hansdotter and his brother Håkan Hansson came to live with them at Karsbol. How long they stayed is not yet known. In 1796, she became a widow after her husband died. The farm had by that time already been taken over by their daughter Britta and her husband Olof Andersson. Margareta lived in Uved for the rest of her life. She died on February 20, 1797, 70 years of age. She died from ”weakness due to old age” and was buried on March 12.
