As a soldier, Eric didn't get any uniform. Like the other soldiers, he had to wear his normal clothes. To know which regiment the soldiers belonged to they all had to wear armlets. The armlets were all worn on the soldiers left arm as You can see on the picture below. Every regiment had its own color but the form on the mark was the same for the whole Swedish army.
For Upplands Regiment, the mark was white with a blue cross.
