Stina Bryngelsdotter
Stina was born on May 21 1798 on the croft Mouskog in Ånimskogs parish, Älvsborgs county. Her parents were the crofter Bryngel Bryngelsson and his wife Brita Svensdotter. She was baptised Christina, but later shortened her name to Stina. In 1811, 12 years old, she left home to work as a maid for the farmer Anders Jonsson on one of the farms in Yttre Bodane in the same parish. The following year she moved to the farm Torp, also to work as a maid. There she stayed for one year and in 1813 she returned home to her parents in Mouskog. In 1814, she once again moved from home. That time to Torpa parish, Älvsborgs county. Where she lived in Torpa parish is not yet known. The following year, 1815, she moved to Tösse parish, Älvsborgs county. There she worked as a maid-servant on the farm Västra Vittlanda. She stayed until 1818, when she moved to the farm Klockarebohl in the same parish. In Klockarebohl she worked as a maid-servant for Lars Lindqvist. The following year, 1819, Olof Nilsson moved to Klockarebohl to work as a farm-hand. Olof was later to be her husband. In 1820 she left Klockarebohl and moved to the farm Strömsberg in the same parish. Even in Strömsberg she worked as a maid-servant. Two years later, on July 7 1822, she got married to Olof Nilsson in Tösse church. By that time she still worked as a maid-servant on the farm Strömsberg and Olof as a farm-hand on the farm Klockarebohl. By the time of her marriage she was pregnant with their first child, Carl Magus, born in November the same year. Maybe that was the reason they married. After the wedding both left their jobs in Tösse praish and moved to the croft Åsröjningen under the farm Åsen in Ånimskogs parish, Älvsborgs county. There they lived the following years. From 1826 they lived on the farm Åsen in Ånimskogs parish. Åsen was owned by Maria Nilsdotter, was most likely Olofs sister. The family lived in Åsen until 1829 as they moved to the croft Pettersburg under Vassviken, in the same parish. They lived in Pettersburg until 1837. In that year they moved to the farm Skållebyn in the same parish. In 1856 all the children had left home and Stina and Olof were living alone in their little house on Skållebyns properties. She lived on Skållebyns properties for the rest of her life and died June 12 1874. By that time she had been a widdow for three years. She was buried on June 21.
