Petter Jonsson

He was born on January 7 1800 at the croft Lindberget on Bergstorps properties in Alsters parish, Värmlands county. His parents were the farmer Jonas Bengtsson and his wife Stina Pettersdotter.

In 1814 he moved with his family to the farm Skåhl in the same parish. Between 1815 and 1821 the family moved on to the farm Ås, also in the same parish.

In 1820 Petter took service as a farmhand for the farmer Johannes Jansson at the farm Hösserud, in the same parish. There he stayed for two years. In 1822 he moved on to the farmer and widdower Magnus Stephansson at the farm Sjöstad, where he also worked as a farmhand. On the farm Magnus lived with his wife and their three daughters.

By the death of Magnus Stephanssons in December 1823, the farm was taken over by the oldest daughter Britta. Six months after the death of Magnus, on June 26 1824, Petter married Britta Magnusdotter. Together they came to run the farm for the following eight years.

In 1832 the family moved to the farm that Petters father was running, the farm Ås. He lived on Ås until he died, on his birthday January 7 1853. He died from stroke and was buried on January 23.
